Guide in the Night

This was created based off of a person who is in a desperate state at the time. This person, though they were in a desperate state made sure no one else was!

Life is but a tree

so connected and strong 

until your spirit is drained 

and you feel as if you don't belong. 

Most people don't feel 

Until what life they had is lost 

But you never realize it 

until it is gone: that is the cost 

the cost of your demon

the cost of your desire 

becomes infatuated with your soul

but it can be undone by a liar 

I once dealt with a liar

whom I should applaud

for my mind is now unable 

to romp free like the mind of God.

I could no longer imagine the future

I could only remember the past. 

Hoping I could relive the memories

Not some future that's like shattered glass. 

As I drew closer and closer into myself

The world moved on and lived without me

I no longer was a part of the light 

So a shadow I was destined to be 

Everyday I wake up 

to see if there is a light 

but within my eyes I see nothing

just my internal fight.

I walk amongst this Earth 

hoping there is a chance 

to be a part of the light again 

but alas I am in a depressing trance 

People are scared of the darkness 

But I invite it in 

for it surrounds me with my fears 

But my spirit has rekindled with my skin 

When your light appears 

I shall disappear from your sight 

But when you are surrounded by darkness

I will be your guide within the night.

O - M - Freaking - G! I feel the exact same way! Every word felt like an echo of suffering. It's so good to find someone out there who shares my plight. And writes about it with such splendor and eloquence. Mind you, some lines are a tad off with respect to musicality, but the imagery is strong, the narrative is great, and that last line is killer! (Let alone the first line! Wow!) Well freaking done!!
