What would you ask if God has to answer?

What would you ask if God has to answer?

A Poem by Holly Mason

What would you ask if God has to answer?
Only one question will be permitted.
That is it for rules.
Now, what would you ask if God has to answer?
A wondering thought.
Too transparent to translate.
Uuhhhmm let me see,
would I ask of eternity?
How does it end?
Am I headed..north or south?
What would I ask if God has to answer?
Ask for peace throughout?
Cure for cancer?
Was Elvis really alive?
What would God ask if I had to answer?
Can you wait until we meet for your answers?

~ hmmm... am still not sure if God is a metaphor or an entity or an energy or all of these things... but if God were an entity and i could ask him a question... i would ask him or her why the poetic justice that poets write about so beautifully cannot be made to come true... for the simple reason that if i was God i would sort of have a rule in place to ensure that the poetic justice that poets speak of comes true... :P

~ p.s. this is a rough translation of what i'd written in urdu once... which is "kyun fitrat mein tere nahin maula insaaniyat ka fitoor?"... why is it not in your nature to be an obsessive humanitarian, oh divine power... something like that...

Is the question, really needed? For if we had the answer, humanity will never be truly happy with it. But then again, I worship at the alter of Her.

You are welcome...:)
Nice words Holly. It's very easy to grow impatient with what God is trying to teach us. There's no fear in death and no sting in pain. Just know that He loves you. Till He calls you home be a blessing to others. God bless Holly!
