Autumn

Autumn

A Poem by Cassick Dame

The calm and chill of autumn
Gives way to a dream
All else forgotten

Out on the fields and away from the stray
And a smile goes as a strong beam
The calm and chill of autumn

And though there are shorter days
Steady everyone seems to be
All else forgotten

The heat and steam of May
Is gone as the leaves of the tree
The calm and chill of autumn

And all happiness seems to stay
And all of the smiles I see
All else forgotten

And on the dying fields I lay
Learning just how perfect to be
The calm and chill of autumn
All else forgotten.
