Colourful Shadow

Colourful Shadow

A Poem by Hamkar
"

A poem that sprouted from the words 'throwing a coloured shadow' that I came across on Google.

"

Coloured Shadow

She was myself

Magnified.

She was my soul

But condensed.

Rays of sunshine reflecting

Me

Why is she not me?

I am a copy

A coloured shadow

I now realise

I am not me

She is not me

But I am her.

Although I should be me.

I was her coloured shadow,

Her silent mirror

Alive but not living

Dead but still breathing

Afraid but strong

Strong but a follower.

A follower to her thoughts

Reactions

Fears

Because I fear myself

I am afraid of

How original

I can be.

The unknown

Of me.

The uncertainess

of myself

I wanted to be a coloured shadow.

I'm not quite sure what, but something is niggling at me. It's not perfect yet. Do you see it?

You have done a great job of making this poem seem very personal. Maybe you'd consider reviewing the last part of the second stanza?
Hope i helped:)
