Repeating a Meaningless Melody

Repeating a Meaningless Melody

A Poem by Hana Linzi

The sound of your name

Sounds so good coming off my lips

The feeling of when I say it

Sounds of a melody in my head

That keeps repeating.

As I want to be that rhythm  that you keep singing.

So play me that song boy one last time.

Tell me what you know I want to hear

As there are 1,025,109.8 words in this world.

Sing them to me

And whisper in my ear.

One last time, play it more time.

Words rolling off your tongue

Make me wanna dance along.

But boy I know that once this song is done

I will then again be all alone.

As those are just words

Even if they sound so good ringing in my ear.

Words are just words.

We are the ones that hold meaning to the words we speak.

As many words may be spoke,

They are spoken meaninglessly

I love you

I miss you

You are the one of my dreams.

As you sang those words so many times,

You never tried to make those words actions,

As I am the one who is meaningless in your mind.

So sing me those songs one last time,

Let me dance to the rhythm of the beat

tell me what I want to hear.

Because I love yous

Are sometimes not true

And the only time you miss me

Is when shes not right next to you.

Im not cinderella

And you do not see me in your dreams.

So boy

Sing me our love song

As there are 1,025,109.8 words in this word.

Explain what I mean to you.

Before I am gone

like the melody that you sang along to.
