Ghost

A poem about an angry ghost confronting their abusive partner (I swear, it's less weird than what it sounds like!)

Why couldn't you see me?

Was I invisible to you?

What could I do besides to plea?

Did you never love me too?

 

You are still here

Why am I not?

Running over my face a single tear

mingling with dark red blood.

 

Why did you make me go?

I was dying

Apparently for you too slow

 Say the truth and quit the lying!

 

If you ever noticed me

you never seemed to understand

what none of us could really see

how far your hatred went

 

I was invisible to you

but not enough to let me go

You never had a clue

that you were your own foe

 

Now I’ll have to leave

without you ever seeing my pain

without you ever getting my grief

all my life in vain
