how do you do it?

how can you believe in someone, that you cannot see?

how can you devote yourself to nothing?

how can you know it to be true, with no guarantee?

are you one of those people,

that only pray,

when they need something?

is this what religion is?

some kind of cleansing service?

you can act however you see fit?

and then just wash it all away,

with a simple prayer?

with a simple confession?

you beg for mercy,

for a place in this 'heaven'.

but is that what its made of?

people who use religion to ease their guilt?

because if that's what it is,

then i don't want to go to this 'heaven'.

i will end up exactly where i deserve.

i don't mind a fiery welcome,

or a cold embrace.

and what is 'heaven', exactly?

is it the same for everyone?

are there harps and big white columns?

or is it something more?

what will your devotion give you in return?

the knowledge that you'll end up among the stars?

or do you simply need to believe,

because you're scared?

you're scared that you are not in control.

you're scared that you cannot defy destiny.

do you simply put your life in his hands,

so that you can blame him for your misfortune?

why should i believe in him?

i take responsibility for my life.

i don't need a scapegoat.

why should i confess you my sins,

when you won't give me an answer?

or are you more than that?

if you are the creator of the universe,

shouldn't we all hate you?

for the war and heartbreak that is life?

or do you simply exist as a way out?

any question that you ask,

may be answered the same way.

"It's part of Gods plan!"

so tell me,

why do you believe?

is there a reason to all of this religion?

what happens if you leave?

are you stuck in limbo?

even though you have done nothing wrong,

or is it just me that doesn't see a purpose in your belief?

maybe i deserve to never have relief.

Relic

For me, I guess I'd be more comfortable meeting a man of god than someone who is agressive. This world is becoming much more combative and violent. People are being beaten for their skin color, or for being jewish, or oriental. Shootings are out of control and getting worse. (500 shootings across the U.S on fourth of july).

I find religious people to be kinder. Is there anything wrong with that?
