Days End

Days End

A Poem by Heavenly Scent

I sat and watched you through the window,

nodding sleepily in the sun.

Your face turned up to catch the last rays,

eyes closed, days work done.

The evening breeze gently ruffled your hair,

its gentle fingers you seemed to feel.

As you sat in solitude and peace, it seemed a shame

to call you in for your evening meal.

This poem just so aptly captured a truly peaceful moment in time, a time capsule if you will. Very sweet and poignant , thank you so much for writing this poem.

this is a sensitively written piece of work. I can picture an elderly gentleman just resting his eyes for a moment. Supper can wait A little while I should think

This is so sweet I love the ethereal quality that your word choices created: "The evening breeze gently ruffled your hair" - Who is this mysterious person about whom this is written?
