So Damaged Yet so Pretty

So Damaged Yet so Pretty

A Poem by Mel

Her perfect hair bouncing when she walks
With a huge smile plastered on her face,
With a confidence strut to her walk,
Capturing everyone’s attention, without no effort.
You want to be her, without knowing her,
Falling for this charade, that she puts up for everyone.

Until we look deeper, and we see the shutters crack,
That smile seeming more forced than even before
So beautiful, yet so damaged as well
As if it was all a show and she was playing her role.
So, what was the point of it you may ask?

Showing the world that everything was okay.
Is she convincing us or herself you may wonder,
But she made sure you will never know.
Those deep brown eyes, everyone seems to love
Have all the answers you never knew.

Look into them long, and see it at your own risk,
Every emotion and feeling laid out for you to see
And oh, they vary from love and affection to fear and pain,
Which are all concealed and gone with a blink of an eye.
So, don’t believe everything you see, as it all can be one big a*s lie.
