Inner Voices

Inner Voices

A Poem by HiddenNeverSeen
"

For my creative writing class we had to write a poem that matches the form of writing of a poet of our choice. I picked poet Olivia B.

"

Sitting there against the wall

In the dark and burning sight

Heart filled threats of those we lost

Lungs breathing heavy aching for grasp

Hard clear and forceful

Right in the mind

Making him think

He was out of time

The thoughts always come

Even during the good old times

Resting in the background

Just for him to see

The voices were cruel

Tearing apart the progress he met

Losing all joy that he once had

He gave up too

The voices can’t be banned

They locked their claws in deep

They found themselves in my heart

Letting darkness into his soul

So on the wall that he sat

There to end the fight

A new light was formed

I won’t give up
