The Memory

The Memory

A Poem by Holly O'Brien

My emotions are raging thoughts
Some bitter, some sweet
Sometimes I wish the wind would carry me
And maybe I’ll be able to enjoy life again
Like the child I once was
A life of the innocent
No war games
Just picture perfect memories to carry
Take me now oh Lord, I swear
Sometimes it’s a burden
These thoughts of mine
They watch me hauntingly
Finding me to talk to

Sometimes it’s a burden
These thoughts of mine --- Amen to that!

Love the pic, too, by the way!

I really like this! it's simplicity completely adds to the flow and message you're conveying, the innocence of a child is far too often swept away in that bitter breeze!

Nice work...the thoughts of the mind are so complicated that we find them emotionally physical...nice...

i dont know if its what you meant to say, but i like how it contrasts how you love childhood because its so safe with adulthood and how you can sometimes feel so alone

Yeah I really like it. It's one of thoses sorts of poems that I want to make really fancy and put it on my wall, if that makes sense. :L

It seems that anyone could relate to it which is what I really like about it :)
