Self Confidence is Weird at First

Self Confidence is Weird at First

A Poem by Sarah Flanigan

It is so weird
to look in the mirror
and not have the urge
to point out every flaw
 of the person
staring back at you.

It's strange
 to wear bright,
bold
colors
without the fear
that too much attention
will be drawn
to my fat stomach.

It's so bizarre
 to be able
to walk down the street
in short shorts
with my pale,
fat,
scarred
 legs out
and just not care
 what others think.

It's weird,
strange,
and so bizarre at first,
but damn,
it feels so good
to love yourself.

Well, self confidence is certainly a very weird & quite a fascinating thing to be lived along. Sometimes, it brings what we want so sometimes makes us all looking like a fool in front of others, however, whatever it is, I happen to know, as long as you are full of happiness (the happiness of nothing), you're good... even the world's so good to you. Once you're hated by your own, even the world's totally seemed gone to you. So yeah, love yourself, no matter what. I sorta like the message you rendering axross this very world through your very poetry. Keep writing. Ans stay beautiful, sweetie. Looking forward to reading your work.
