An hour of rain

An hour of rain

A Poem by Relic
"

Rain, like stanzas.

"
With a sudden deluge of rain
my yard's earthly page
spills over with soothing stanzas.

For an hour, the sky recites
poems from heaven
and I listen...mesmerized.

I'll take a rainy day any day! Your brevity speaks to my soul, Tim. "The sky reciting poems from heaven." Truly extraordinary!

You're very kind, Kelly. Thank you.
OMG!! this is SO much like ME!!! so gorgeous my friend, I even love it more because it's short, it gives me the feeling that the inspiration was at the crest and all flow at once into these two verses... so mesmerizing something I wish I've written.

Beautiful imagery and I love the way you plant the reader right in the action from the first line, which reflects the sudden, heavy downpour of the rain.

I love the rain too. Sort of a meditation. If we listen. I enjoyed your thoughts on the rain. In Michigan with the greats lakes surrounding. The rain is always near. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome my friend.
Yes, rain (except when it's accompanied by twisters) regenerates the earth, so that it does spill forth its stanzas of vegetation. And the sound of the rain, tapping the roof with unbroken regularity, can indeed mesmerize. I wonder if Noah felt this way, if only for a while?

No problem
Six lines of brevity which are both visual and musical. I love listening to the sound of rainfall. The repetition can be mesmerising.

I do enjoy the quiet time of rain. Almost nothing brings me closer to nature then her tears for us. Thank you for sharing.
