A Poem by Relic

WeirdWood: Piano Tree
Like an ensemble
oscillating through nature's
octaves ~
or a harmonious matrimony
between instrument
and earth ~

a duration of wordless
compositions dedicated to
a springs pianoforte
silently fills the forest.

At their base,
a cadenza's roots swell
to the sky through a millinnia
of larghissimo measures.

Until one day, nature's
cardiograph jostles,
and the tempos stumble and slip,
from the margins of longevity.

With a unique crashing timbre
a majestic resolution
leads to an end
~ and is resolved.~

The ending gives an all around ending to this piece.
I was somewhat transfixed by this,
just like I would be if I stumbled upon this in the woods, somewhere.

Thanks Light.
Splendid work R. Bewitching as I drifted through the swamp. Gobsmacked by the fantastic choice of images and words used to craft them into a beautiful thought painting to match the grand image you attached to the poem.

A lovely blend of music and nature .
poetic verse to this image is really
so well crafted .so many good
lines ..the measurement of time
plays out on a sad but beautiful
resolved note ..as we slow to life
and accept it,s finalized resolution

Relic,
I'm interested to know if you found the picture and wrote to it, or if you wrote the poem and then illustrated it with the photo?
Either way, your voice and imagery are perfect.

A terrific write. The posted image is incredible. This beats trees growing between disused rail tracks. Mother Nature has her way of fighting back regardless. Really enjoyed this one Tim.

I appreciate your comment, Chris. Thank you.
The illustration accompanying this one is truly unique. An ancient piano stands in the midst of a forest. It has been there long enough for a large tree to grow up within it, and the poem describes it as a "harmonious marriage between instrument and earth." In the end it becomes a metaphor for physical life, for, its purpose past, it slows down and makes its final resolution. Ain't that the way with all of us?

Pretty much, John. :) Thanks for the read and comment.
What a striking image! The poem is beautifully written and seems to compliment the picture perfectly. As with all things in life, resolutions come to an end and is resolved. One last breath given for life.
