The Dark Is...

The Dark Is...

A Poem by Relic

The dark is, most times,
comforting to be with
late at night.

He'll deny the light of things
I don't want to talk about;
bribe the sun to come back later.

When the hurt tries to breach
he slides a key in the lock,
places a keep out sign
over the door.

He calms the waters inside
stirred by life.
Dries my drenched sadness.

And when the sun must intrude;
when it shouts to be let in,
he filibusters, delays the inevitable.

But in the meantime
he helped find missing words when the page was empty;
when inspiration found its way
though unable to see.

Oh yes, the dark can be comforting and that’s when I do most of my writing, when my creative side is at its most content. The quiet hours. I love that word filibuster Tim. Just what politicians are good at. Your description here is ace. An excellent poem. Good to find you posting.

Just the right time for you to write then:) Hope all is well with you?
This an amazing way of describing writing at night and how the nocturnal hours calm and regenerative our minds and let us create fully.

Stunning wording and keeping the sun at bay helps sometimes although life with the sun must return full force with the light!!
