Beneath a Veil of Tenderness

This is a satirical piece based on true events. The second to last line has a weak pun on the name of the person. You'll never figure it out, I'm sure.

Beneath a veil of tenderness,
hidden behind those pretty eyes,

there is a heart with emptiness
ready to torture you with lies.

She loves no one but plays the part,
saying these words: ‘Oh please, be mine,’

and with sweet words, she steals your heart,
then walks away for you to pine.

That tender sweet you so longed for
was but a veil of lies and hate
to trap your soul forevermore
and make pure love a twist of fate:

Those days I cared for you, in vain,

were both a pleasure and a pain.
