There goes the neighborhood

There goes the neighborhood

A Poem by Emme
"

Not plagiarized from the Sheryl Crow song :)

"
Curled up on the couch
Sleeping peacefully
Like an angel
Like my sister when she was five
Except that she was still young
And innocent
Unlike him who is
Thirteen years more experienced
Than the kid who used to roll onto my side of the mattress
So much changes over time
The building I would've come to if
I'd clicked my heels together
Has changed a lot
There's a glass table with a beer mug
Where my Fischer Price plastic table used to be
A motorbike where my chalk drawings went
The bushes that sheltered my neighbor's shy kitty
And the fence I crashed into are gone
So much has moved on

I am an English major, currently reading and obsessing over Paradise Lost. I've been going through a weird zombie phase lately (is there such a thing as a normal zombie phase?) more..
