Clean Coffee

Clean Coffee

A Poem by Emme

The smell of brewing coffee
Carries from the kitchen
To the living room
The brown, bitter liquid
That burns my throat
And opens my eyes wide
But it turns its makers dirty
And so it must be cleaned
So now the smell of vinegar travels
Through the living room
Strange and strong
To keep the coffee cycle going
