Confessions of a Loner

Confessions of a Loner

A Poem by Immilea Chayse

You may just think I'm simple
A basic wanna-be
But someday you'll look closer
And see there's so much more to me

There's things I know that you never will
Cool things I've seen and done
But you never take an intrest
So I miss all the fun

You'll never know my story
You'll never know my fears
You'll never know my secrets
And the things that I hold dear

If only you'd look closer
And see beyond my face
You'd find there's something else there
More beautiful than lace

But instead you stand there smirking
Laughing and my hair
Never giving me the slightest chanc
It simply isn't fair

What if I were the one who was laughing
Would you still pick on me so
But that will never happen
So I will never know

Immilea, this is well said, lyrical, with an impact. I recall my "loner days", and know these sentiments well. Great job with this poem!
