I chose to write fearlessly

You were my inspiration

I bought a black notebook

And never looked back

Setting my soul on fire

Always fanning the flame

That fire spilled over

From poetry at work

To love letters at home

You were on my mind

From morning til night

We spoke on the phone

Into the restless hours

When I heard your laugh

I saw your reassuring smile

In those fleeting moments

I thought to myself

"This is all I need"

But always wanted more
