A Poem by Daywalker
"

Inspired by my friend who is worth more than people give her credit for.

"

The air hums with electricity

And you know you’re the only one to notice

The budding blossoms on the plum tree

The crocuses sprouting,

A thoughtful glance

To the shadows of the clouds

What is missing?

The crowd, the line,

The soft caress of time?

Your thoughts are too many

Your actions are too few

And gone is the innocence of

Once forgotten lives,

You throw your worries down

The drain

The drain leaks anyway

And creates a puddle on the cold tile

Of your bathroom floor,

A wall of paper

A lazy surfer,

You lose money

But you tell yourself you can

Survive poverty

With a spoonful of sugar and

Another day,

Another twenty four hours of ideas

And hopes that someone else will notice,

That your one-of-a-kind brain

Can be their one true answer
