Hailey and the Ocean

Hailey and the Ocean

A Poem by Mark
"

Inspired by this photo of my granddaughter Hailey, taken by her mother Nicole.

"
Oh the blue and the line
where sky and water meet!
Look at the white foam
rushing, pounding the shore.
I shall sail on this wind
with these arms
lifted on this blue
promise of life.
over pounding surf
far above the pier
looking back and smiling
'Look! Mom! I'm flying!'

Only the sight of the vast sea and rushing waves can transport us back to our childhood faster than anything else. Great write, Mark. :)

Beautiful recollection. I - honestly can't remember the first time I saw the ocean surf. I think at first I was frightened, then amazed, then delighted though. Life, be in it !

Nicely written, Mark. :)

The salty air tastes of freedom! You captured the sense of wonder and childhood glee the sea can create.
