Storms, Oceans, and Love

Storms, Oceans, and Love

A Poem by Mark
"

Just a fictional write.

"
I felt the storm coming;
raising the color in my eyes.
It was dark and gray lonely,
rushing headlong through the skies.
There was lightning, there was rain
and the air smelled freshly showered.
Thunder rumbling through in pain;
I felt the storm.
Looking west I saw you painted on the sky.
I looked to see if you saw me
as the storm rushed you on by.
But then you were gone, moved on.
Rain drenching me to the skin
Restoring in steam, what I know.
Clean, and never again this fresh
Sun and clouds beam, creating steam below
Love is an ocean pent up each inside.
Some never find it and so never learn
Others can't keep back that holy tide;
when it's coming... they feel the storm.
I might have felt outdrawn
but I swim in my own design
What we never had at all
Doesn't matter, I'll be fine.
And when the clouds come define
and the gray black rolls me over
I'll feel my love aligned
by white streaks of lightning.

Thank you Cassie. :)
I enjoyed the journey into your words. I agree with the logic of love and the sea.
"Love is an ocean pent up each inside.
Some never find it and so never learn
Others can't keep back that holy tide;
when it's coming... they feel the storm."
The above lines are amazing. Can't stop love. It will overtake you. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thank you my friend.
A provocative and thoughtful write, Mark. I enjoyed the depth of emotion, although subtle, it is reflected in each line. The undercurrent of sorrow, stormy and forlorn, with a lid over it all - trying to contain it! Well done.

You still on wacky backa? this is a deeper piece than I recall from you Mark and it has deeply touching tones that are flavoured by tinges of hope and yet regret?

i like the comparison you made that 'love is an ocean pent up each inside' this is a great metaphor for love because you can't hold it back when it comes. great poem.

Inundation. I enjoyed this, Mark. I especially like the disclaimer, that this is simply "Just a fictional write"...

Right ;-)

I didn't want people to think I actually saw people painted on the sky. LOL
