Them

Them

A Poem by Mark

We all go along with what makes sense
even with a gun pointed to our heads
while 'they' say it's all been wrong.

I've never really understood that thinking
when reality is what we want it to be,
even when it is so obviously not.

Tell us 'they' are responsible
'they' are the evil doers
and the makers of mischief.

'We' are the righteous
with everything to gain
as long as 'they' lose.

Never really understood that mission.
Felt it must be glaring light and
darkest shadow; two sides of the Moon.

I wish we could all just go on wishing
and live the days and nights
we all are so sure we deserve,
for our belief.

It is so easy to point the finger of blame at other's for the world's failings but never easy to practice self reflection and see our own accountability' for our contribution to these destructive ways. Thinks for sharing your insight through this thought provoking piece. Great read!

And seldom does the self reflect on the collective power...would we rise and see that connection, things may be different, as always, thoughtful post hon x

Woah dude, this is deep and quite chilling, I think I need to go and blast my music and turn on the lights, it's only 5:30PM here but it is pitch black!

I should totes be a comedian. I am totes joking about that.
There is a gun pointed to our heads. However unsen or invisible. This in itself is chilling. And "they'...are just like 'us', if we stop for a minute and really think. Thanks for this powerful and insightful write.

Thank you dear heart :)
At first read of the title I thought giant ants Mark...but that's just me. This one does ask some perplexing questions. I must say the gun pointed to the head line gave me chills, but they will recede eventually. Very cool.

Actually, the movie I am referring to was titled..."Them".
Isn't time the beast that holds one back when we want to dance and go forward, well done, good read.
