Princess

Princess

A Poem by Catherine Frain

Every girl, at one point in her life,
dreams of one day becoming a princess.
To wear the ball gowns, to dance at balls,
to have their own Prince Charming.
They dream of living in castles,
with a happily ever after.

One thing is missing in each of these dreams,
one thing that these girls don’t realize.
Every girl in the world is a princess,
whether they have the title or not.

From the richest little girl to the poorest-
each is a princess in their own ways.

To protect the ones around them from harm,
to settle for something that they don’t want.
Many characteristics make up a princess,
and many of girls hold them.

It is not wrong to dream and to wish,
but girls take a step back.
Look into a mirror, and
see the true princess inside of you.

Every girl, at one point in her life,
dreams of one day becoming a princess.
To wear the ball gowns, to dance at balls,
to have their own Prince Charming.

They dream of living in castles,
with a happily ever after.
Sometimes happily ever after,
is just a dream away.
