Cold is a Harsh Knife

Cold is a Harsh Knife

A Poem by Catherine Frain

Cold is the deadly knife-
that was plunged into the beating heart of thy enemy.

The blood of thy enemy now lay on your hands.
The pale white skin, stained-
stained with a pure scarlet color.

The blade of the knife still buried so deep in thy heart.
An ice-cold kill with an equally ice-cold heart.
A once-beating heart of life now lays stone-cold and still.

A cold knife is a deadly knife, that is held
in an icy-cold hand, with a harsh mindset behind,
the plunge of the knife into the warmth of the heart.
