Hidden Demons

Hidden Demons

A Poem by Catherine Frain

On the inside, is where all of my pain

And suffering, anger hide.

Hidden under happy smiles-

cheerful laughs- happy words!

These things are where my demons hide.

I hate these, but no matter what I try,

nothing can change my demons-

that cast my mind into a state of war.

I can handle it, even if I lie

to all about what I feel.

My throat is sore, from constant yelling-

yelling at myself.

My eyes are dried out,

from all the tears

that have fallen from them.
