Intrusive Sun

Intrusive Sun

A Poem by Inyourshadow
"

A sonnet where a new day is not always a good thing

"

I awake before the breaking dawn,
to steal a moment from veiled night.
Drinking in the ambience,
of your presence beneath moon-light.

Knowing too soon you have to leave,
and I too must face the coming day.
But yet for just an hour or two,
I can still hold you close this way.

Snap shots taken with the lovers eye,
n'er fade nor need the albums clutch.
As once more I frame your sleeping face,
and ease your dreams with tender touch.

So let not the sun intrude and rise,
as I kiss sleep from gentle eyes.

This is such a tender and loving sonnet. Words so sweetly penned as though touching lover's face so gently. Well done dear brother. As usual.

A beautiful sonnet, your poem is a snap shot itself of a tender loving moment and what better way to always remember it than this! Love it. Annie

Delightful...Time just seems to slip from our grip...it would be great if we could hold onto it. You can't beat a good sigh inducing sonnet...loved this, simply beautiful. xxx
