Down to Earth

Down to Earth

A Poem by Rebecca Isherwood
"

Written 7-2-2008. This sums up my general thoughts on running down the entire east coast of the US to try to escape my problems. Didn't really escape the old ones and acquired a new set on top of those. The joy.

"

Finally gone, finally got away

Ran straight from failure

And it's here I want to stay

Escaped the mundane vacationland

Got away from my life too

Now everything is just grand

Appearances are not as they seem

I'm lost in this unfamiliarity

This side, the grass isn't always green

I'm a new set of problems to address

A new variety of emotions

I need to find a way to express

I thought I knew everything

What it felt like to really care

I realize I knew nothing

Love was never actually there

Lust ran my entire life and

Drove me to despair

Then I began hanging out

With a friend of a friend of mine

He cast a shadow of a doubt

Made me rethink my ways

I know that I'd fallen fast

Wanted to be near him always

Now there's not a choice

He's leaving to fight a war

I've lost my strong voice

My world has been turned around

Can't tell him that I'm in love

My heart is broken on the ground. .

Rebecca Isherwood
I don't really have any comments other than I know this is going completely out of order. I stopped trying to be chronological.
