A poem for a moment of brief remembering.

 __________________________________________________

I river in my own maze

And scan this summer for warm answers

People flutter and vanish in the film of my dream

Disturbing the regular circles of life I’ve learned to adjust in

The day scatters around me in the form of events

And my parents withdraw themselves into their own belongings

Photographs I’ve tried to preserve decay on my walls

Diaries dictate my misplaced words amongst themselves

This is only a season

And nothing special, not the time to curse a monsoon

For not exploding on time

In my country when people die they take another form of life

And in the same country when ambitions die they become tears

And tears become memories appearing as incidents

And once a while when monsoon arrives again after a dead summer

Illusions of a grey sky form into dark clouds

And all your memories come back to breathing

Freely, one by one

And you thought only saints and the people you love

Had the special permission to come back from the dead.

I loved how you portrayed a sort of detachment from the world around you.
"People flutter and vanish in the film of my dream"
"The day scatters around me in the form of events"
I especially like this
"...not the time to curse a monsoon
For not exploding on time"
Great work.

Deeply moving write, taking us on a journey across space and time... moments and lifetimes... Gripping and emotionally stirring...

Another really strong examination of a subject which recurs in everyone's minds.
Clinically done, and studied. Mean, but attractive allusions made in this poem. Good lines like ...

"And nothing special, not the time to curse a monsoon
For not exploding on time"

and..

"And once a while when monsoon arrives again after a dead summer
Illusions of a grey sky form into dark clouds
And all your memories come back to breathing
Freely, one by one"

..are quite insightful metaphors for this mystical topic. I particulalry liked the last two lines. Nostalgia is a deceptive torturer; an avenging weapon used by Time against temporary Man.

Very nice. I really admire the confidence you write with, its just something that always strikes me when I'm reading something you've written, no matter the topic or genre. the last two lines said it all. this was a beautiful piece Ishan, keep it up!

This was a very awesome poem, gently picturesque but with a touch of a storyline. Well done.

good work Ishan - circles of life - they are all around us - memories come back to breathing and dying ambitions become tears. circles within circles
