Marital Angels

Marital Angels

A Poem by It'sLexiB47

I hear you yell

I hear you scream

I hear you fight

Though lovers you seem

The "lovely, happy married couples"

Now have weekly, nightly tussles

I hear them fight

I hear them scream

I lay in fright

As I pretend to sleep

I silently listen

To the love that is missin'

I'm waiting for a signal

To jump in the middle

To protect the children

From seeing you mishapen

Your love has vanished

For this moment's advantage

I wonder where it goes

When harmful words are thrown
