Kiss Me Awake

Kiss Me Awake

A Poem by Chelle
"

A poem about loneliness while impatiently waiting for true love to come around.

"
Caught in the midst
Of others in bliss
Where happiness glows
From every corner

A sigh escapes
While I observe
What I have yet
To find

Denied the company
Of someone who
Could satisfy my craving

I close my eyes
And drift away
Where needs are met
Unrealistically

There he finds me
There I'm held
There I can pretend

But here I'm lost
Worn from searching
Now I'm waiting
Endlessly

"Come to me"
I want to plead
I want to scream
So that he hears

And yet hope lingers
Upon the silver chain
Where the clasp
Has come around to the front

It brings a message
From my prince
"I'm thinking of you"
"I'm looking for you"
"One day I'll find you"

But how much longer
Will I wait
Until I can be safe
In your arms?

How much farther
Must I go
Until I can
See your face?

How many dreams
Will you appear in
Until you kiss me
Awake?

I want to know.
I want to see.
I want to hope.
I want to believe.
