Dead End

Dead End

A Poem by Chelle
"

Letting out the emotions and thoughts from the past few weeks. You can say I'm putting my pain into words, my frustrations into poetry, my emptiness to create something out of nothing.

"
Two broken hearts
Shattered across the ground
You helped me gather the courage
To suture the lacerations
And expose it for healing

But you, love
Cannot even bring yourself
To pick up your own pieces

Both of us, dear
Have scars from our past
Burning through our being

Though the two of us
Could be meant to be
Together
As one
Though the two of us
Could have finally found
One another
To heal

You refuse to find the courage
To love even the one who vows
Never to throw you away
Like she did

Little do you realize
How your pain sears through me
Little do you know
How greatly I want to heal you
To heal both of us
From the sins of our past

I know you care
I know there's hope
I know deep down inside
There's that part of you
That wants to love

You felt that with me
For once in a long time
You embraced that special
Connection

Until your fear
Until my paranoia
Forced our hearts
Back into the cages

I only hope
I only dream
That's it is not too late
For either of us
To salvage what's left

Because you, my dear
Are my last resort
You're the last one
I leave my heart with
For I am too drained
To take it back
If you can never love again
Then I await a dead end
