ROVER

ROVER

A Poem by Izzy-01
"

An all too familiar childhood experience

"
There goes the dog that bit me
Standing by its normal spot
There goes my heart , its racing
My feet are set to bolt .

friends wave goodby , they are leaving.
I stop to catch my breath.
It had smelt the fear a mile away.
Dog emerges from the gate .

He begins to walk towards me
I start to walk with haste .
I throw in a little bait from lunch
But this fish is on the hook

I release my books with pleasure
Set off running, homeward bound .
Turned round, looked over my shoulder The culprit was in hot pursuit .

I heard a voice shout 'hey Rover'
And just like that he snapped
I live to walk home another day .
But this episode was yet to start.
Oh Rover, Ms sunshine sure loved that dog.
I disliked him with a passion .
