A Thunderstorm’s Call

A Thunderstorm’s Call

A Poem by J Todd Underhill

"

The spring night splendorous as the moon begins to rise.

Soon the petrichor will waft around my city.

Thrilling the olfactory senses.

God’s sculptures form and move toward the plains.

Much needed precipitation soon to arrive.

Firefighters and Farmers begin to rejoice.

This poet breaks out into joyous song.

Pleasant bass filled roar

Drums of a thousand armies

A Thunderstorm’s Call

petrichor, such an awesome word, kudos! great writing and yes much needed rain, fires breaking out everywhere, a harsh reality these days of climate change. I see you are doing the challenge as well, surely you will make it longer than I, I have only succeeded twice as my pen gets dry and it is already low. Good luck!
