Behind the WavesA Poem by J.A.BentleyBeginning of this summer, I was anticipating more than what I bargained for. I got it. It takes a few tries to learn sometimes.I was there, small
tiny, against the wall of wind that rode the white-crested waters that I pressed against Breath... i was brave, courageous and I thought I knew what laid before me; behind these waves laid the truth Run... I had fathomed more than just seeing more of me the ugliness inside and the perfect I couldn't be Dive... And the clouds rose up and gathered much force against my outstretched wings straining to maintain outward form Swim... But I broke inside and I let the fear seep in: "You can't survive; and you'll die doing all this." Climb... "Mercy!" I cried out loud To my Father up above He strengthened my inward resolve and he bolstered me as I stood Out... Now I march forward headstrong in the wind feet one inch below the water It's a new day; Begin Again... © 2011 J.A.BentleyAuthor's Note
