God Saved Me

God Saved Me

A Poem by J. F. Charleston
"

Based on biblical stories.

"
The storm is growing
It is giant & deadly
Fear overwhelms me

I ran to Jesus
Screaming "Lord, save us"
He only awoke and said
"You of little faith"

He faced the winds & waves
Raised a hand & commanded
"What kind of man is this?
Even the winds & waves obey him"

Jesus saved us, He saved me
Jesus is the King of Kings
The ruler of the Heavens & Earth
The Alpha & the Omega

I was a messenger for God
I delivered His messages without fail
He bestowed upon me the one message
I would never had wanted

He commanded me, I cowardly ran
He was furious & a whale was sent for me
In the whale, I repented & promised I'd go

The city of Ninova was wicked
Thieves, haters, sinners
They arrested me & before I
Was terminated, I delivered the message
Once the Ninovites listened
They spared me & repented

God saved me, He saved me
When I was afraid
He forgave me and I obeyed
God saved me.
