I cry alone at night
Where your memory lingers
I can't help but think of you
And the times we shared
And our devastating fight

Your voice replays in my head
It's so beautiful yet teasing
I couldn't get enough of it
Now I wish I never heard it

I still love you after everything
After we fought for so long
After our attempts to stay
After we went separate ways

I cry alone at night
I die surrounded at day
No one knows how bad
It's a depressing sight

I miss you every hour
You cross my mind so often
My heart aches for you
But you don't trust it anymore
So there's no use in trying

All I can do now is cry
Cry through the pain
I brought upon us

You never deserved any of this
Any more hurt than you had
I couldn't stop what I feared

I still love you through it all
You thought I never cared
Thought I was full of lies
Thought I wanted to hurt you
None of that was true

I still love you
I miss you
I care about you
But you doubt me
It's hopeless

How many times does one sit and ponder those exact words? I know I've done that countless times...just so I can weave my way through the hurt at being the cause of pain. We all are able to relate to your poetry because you touch on emotions, triumphs, losses, and all the voices within our souls. I've watched (even though you think I haven't) your poems become so much more than words. Growth comes in many different forms...and you my friend have been on a spurt for months. :).
