Heart Break

Heart Break

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

Here it comes
I half expected this
The unthinkable sums
Here's to another heart break

It didn't take long for this one
Here we are one and done
Your heart broke mine
You thought it was fine

I loved you for you
I tried to see the good
All I was, was your tool
Played me for a fool

This heart break
It's used to it now
The lies, the hurt
It bleeds in the dirt
Shattered to pieces
Beatless in my wake

This whole time I wished
That you were someone
I could trust, but you
You just fished

I loved you
You broke my heart
I'm glad we're apart
I can't take anymore
Of this Heart Break.
