There is something mythical about the ocean, the thunderous clapping of the waves. There is a melody about it, that literally carries you away. You've captured the essence of it, here, Joyce...so brilliantly!

Perhaps the waves are meant to mask the "mermaid voices", so to keep them a mystery, known only to the depths of the ocean...and perhaps to the man in the moon!

So engaging to read, Joyce!

Thank you, Jacob, for your very nice words. I don't know why but so many, including myself, are fascinated in the mermaid legend. I can remember reading the "real," as opposed to the fake comic book version, of "The Little Mermaid" and crying my eyes out at the end.
