Meaningless Goals

Meaningless Goals

A Story by Joey Nizz

A farmer had a dog which used to sit by the roadside
Waiting and anticipating any vehicles to come around
And as soon as one passes
It would run down the road barking and trying to over take it
One day
The neighbor asked the farmer
Do you think that dog of yours would ever catch a car?
The farmer replied
That's not what bothers me
What bothers me is what would it do if he ever caught one

Many people in life do actually behave like that dog who is just pursuing a meaningless goal.

Life is hard by the yard
But by its inch
It's a cinch

--Gean Gordon--

Always pursue a goal with a meaning to it
A goal that you would know what to do with one you have caught up to it.
