Hiking

Hiking

A Poem by JSAECH
"

Sometimes hiking alone can clear the mind

"

The crunching sound beneath my feet

Reminds me of our time together, bittersweet

As I walk in silence and look for perspective

There is no rhyme or reason, no objective

I just want to let it all go

And I want you to know

That I am ok

At least today

As I move through the woods

Miles away from our neighborhoods

I wish I could express what you mean to me

Walking by a dying birch tree

We spend so much time together

Never worrying about the weather

We may have never met

But my heart is what you kept

When you choose him over me

I will grow and survive

Even as we say goodbye

These woods can hide my tears

And calm my lonely fears

I love the quietness hiking brings

It helps heal some many things

Although we may never be

You will always be with me

Sounds like a relationship that has ended due to another man. And you both used to like hiking in this same spot, you are still going to. And have fond memories of time spent with her together. Bittersweet ending. But slight comfort from the favourite place. Could feel your emotions.
