MY WIFE AND I

MY WIFE AND I

A Poem by Jvl narasimharao
"

This is a conflict between my wife and I.It is not fiction but it is a fact

"

It is human folly not to accept the present,

lament about the past

and worry about the future.

In fact, past is only a dream

future is just a vision

but only the present is the reality

In summer, we yearn for the rain

in the incessant rain, we look for the sun shine

and in the biting cold too, we glorify the sun

My wife thinks we should have settled in a city

and should have constructed a more modern house

She even thinks she should not have married me

I try to be as cool as a cucumber

and think my house is my great chamber

Being a simple teacher, I accept the reality

But my wife doesn’t understand me. It is a real pity

This put me in mind of yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is all that's promised to me.......Regrets we all have and sometimes we think the decisions we have made in life are mistakes. Unfortunately often we don't appreciate what we have until it is gone. Lovely writing JVL.

I can feel your pain through this, although you present a great stoicism in your words. There is so much control here, in your words, your manner and in the emotions expressed. I find myself saddened by this, your acceptance of it all. Some things in life we have to accept, but the scorn and disdain of our partner? It's too high a price to pay.

i really like " past is only a dream, future is just a vision but only the present is the reality". I completely understand where you are going with this poem, i too was married for only a year. its the hurt and the betrayal never really fades away

A sad and realistic poem, I am sorry for that. Sometimes we just have to appreciate the simplicity and accept reality for what it is, and not live in a dream of what could be. We cannot change the past, but only change the future and live for today.

i can't begin to imagine how difficult it must be to be in that situation. but you have portrayed it with grace, poise, and definite sadness. the emotions in this piece are heartbreaking and expressed expertly. may you find some comfort and peace.
