Kids Can Kill

Kids Can Kill

A Story by Jill

Down, down poured the rain as the children stood small. Their heads bowed and the rain hid the tears. Their eyes never swayed from their place on the ground. While they stood around, their minds did wonder. To dragons and castles and faraway lands. Anywhere but there is all that they cared.
But one little boy lies dead. His face is red and muddy and his limbs are tangled webs. Blood mixes with mud as the rain pours on. He had been the quiet boy; the one no one knew. And yet they all knew him as the little human punching bag. No one knew why, yet no one dared ask. And so they pushed and pushed and pushed; until today. Today they threw and today he died.
The little boy had known kids can be cruel. He had known that kids can hurt and kids can tear. He had known all this, but he hadn't known kids can kill.

Please review! I know some sentences are not grammatically correct, but I feel like they add to the story.
