Love Shattered All

Love Shattered All

A Poem by Jackie Mckeen

Sipping that White grape vodka in the corner
Looking at the strange world, she was a foreigner
She doesn't think anyone understands her anymore
This world confuses her, her mind was at war

She says her heart doesn't bleed from the pain
It's turned to stone, but it has left it's stain
When she looks in the mirror she sees imperfection
All that she has ever felt in her small life is rejection

She walks down the street alone with a broken smile
No body talks to her, she wonders if it's even worthwile
She tries to sing a song to comfort her sad soul
But the hurt and pain she feels is in to much control

Two shots of hate shoot through her blood
Another time her hate is going to flood
Her hugs are empty without love in her life
Before she goes to bed, she plays with her knife

She woke up today and has two red roses by her side
And seeing someone left them for her, she happily cried
Feeling love shoot through her for the first time in years
She walks out of hate because love  shattered her fears

Beautiful poem, hate's not something to live through. You show love's brilliance well with this piece. Keep up the great work.
