She Is Beautiful

She Is Beautiful

A Poem by Jackie Mckeen

Disrespect is what they show her everyday
Pushing her around making the hurt stay
She wants to be loved and thought this was okay
But now it's a forced feeling, this isnt the way

She wants him to say she's beautiful in his eyes
But to get that, she gives herself to the lies
He just wants to be cool by all the other guys
He cheats on her, and her heart slowly dies

She's says shes happy , but the tears burn down
She forces that smile, but in the dark she'll frown
She sits alone until he stumbles home with that crown
She tries to stand, but her tears slowly make her drown

Why can't she see she's beautiful, she doesnt have to fight
I don't want her to live like this, it isn't right
I want to help her see this, I want her to see the light
She doesn't deserve to be stuck in the darkness of the night

... I am glad I came across this. It reminds me of my sister, and I liked that I could relate. Thank You for writing this!
