Isn't life wonderful

Isn't life wonderful

A Poem by Jake Staffeld

There's always another
Catastrophe
But we just hum along
Ignore the collapse of buildings

We say
Lets watch the crazies as they
Sing and dance
For our own entertainment

Watch the son get high
And burn away the life
It's supposed to nourish
Isn't life wonderful?

We'll sing as waves crush
Your homes and lives
We feel so invincible
Just like the Sun

You missed paradise
By a million miles
So we ask you
Isn't life wonderful?

We'll laugh at
Sand soaked red
As we drink water
In front of the dehydrated children

It's not like we know better
We are Americans
So all we know is
How to ask you
Isn't life wonderful?
