Piano

Piano

A Poem by James Wells

I think that the doctors might lie.
To shield what has become dark.
From that cold, cold light.
These pills could do wonders.
But you will soon discover.
That medication fights.
Play that piano, hear the notes sing.
You remind me of a flower in spring.
Or the strings that play in a song.
That lasts much too long.
It lasts much too long.
I think that your parents might lie.
To shield all that is left.
Of their precious baby girl.
In this world we can do wonders.
But you too soon discovered.
What is the world.
Play that piano, hear the notes sing.
You pour gently like the rain in spring.
Or the rings around a distant planet.
That feels much too far.
You feel much too far.
Play that piano, listen to me.
I'll be here for a while, hopefully.
Sturdy like a tree,
With branches too twisted.
My branches are twisted.

Like the feel of the repeating last lines of your stanzas--rather different and brings the point to bear.

I'm just looking to keep people entertained. It's important to me that I do as much as I can to give hope to the hopeless. We need it the most. But I also do say some comedic things occasionally, b.. more..
