The Little Engine That Could...

The Little Engine That Could...

This little engine comes in a small frame, but has a heart of a lion,
never quits, refuses dying,
This little engine is the epitome of the never say die attitude,
even when not in the mood,
This little engine isn't done, until she says she's done,
and very outgoing and a whole lot of fun,
This little engine has climbed the tallest mountains,
and doing so, with very little pouting,
This little engine is three men in one,
and not even a tad bit dumb,
This little engine does everything, full steam ahead,
and as a child this engine put me to bed,
This little engine I speak of is my mother,
and I tell you what, I sure do love her,
She is a true inspiration, she is always willing herself,
to her next destination,
Now mom isn't perfect, but who is in this circus,
I've seen mom derail and then prevail in the same breath,
She has always tried to keep our messed up family together,
no matter what kind of weather,
This little engine needs a break, some time to rest,
so she can again feel her best,
She needs her family, and I don't think that's to much to ask,
so mom that's my new task,
I know you feel misunderstood, but in due time it will all be good,
I love and appreciate all that you have done for us,
and with the help of God, I will fix this family, I give you my word,
a word you can trust...

I♡YOU MOM!

Thanks for checking it out and b-blessed!
There are few on this earth to better those through-and-through caring mothers for what they unselfishly give all one's life long. They're blind to faults or see only the good in us, their best love sees but understands that none of us are perfect but are still worth loving.

Tis heartbreaking to so often hear or read that not all mothers give what they should.. and for those dear people who have never known a good mother's love, dear Lord protect their hearts and spirits.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful words.

Jamestown, this was a gorgeous dedication to your mother. I am sure you have done her proud, and that she is proud to have such a filial son like yourself:) The love of a mother "never quits, refuses dying". Such profound words...thank you for sharing with me this wonderful piece, James.

your welcome
That was truly beautiful, refreshing, and heartfelt. Thank you for reopening our eyes and making us acknowledge the importance and magnitude of our mother's love for us. Each mother is indeed an engine who has no limit in loving her close ones and would keep on going even when she absolutely needs to rest. It is for us to also give back and let her re-energize her battery, because she is also human (although we may think she is a superhero and she is!).
