A note left to a lover..

I want to end this

But don’t know how to

They say it’s cruel to be kind

But it’s so difficult to do.

 

You still mean the world to me

But the pain I feel is unbearable

I cry myself to sleep, if only you could see

I wake to the same feeling, so I know this is not meant to be.

 

I can’t live with you

What a dilemma I am in

Because I can’t live without you

The love of my life, and this must now end.

 

The tears stream down my face

As I write this note to you

I wish you all the best, and for you to find a new place

My heart now my darling, is totally broken in two.

It is but saying goodbye is so important. When someone has meant so much to us, they deserve a proper goodbye. I think it's healthier for both parties. It will probably make the next relationship more healthier too, just having the feeling that your past one is resolved and you've parted ways with loose ends properly cared for. Wonderful poem.

I like the rhymes in this poem, I think they really try to simplify a complicated experience, which can serve as a dive into the narrator's mind. the emotions are also very strong, especially on a topic we can all relate to. Great write.

Ugh. Don't I know it. I see this reaction as the breaker, but the breakee sometimes has it dreadfully worse.
This was tough to read as only who has gone through this will tell you this is a tough situation and tripped by barbwire.
